Crown & bridge design questions, answered

What crown and bridge cases do you design?

We design single crowns, multi-unit bridges and full-contour restorations in 3Shape, optimized for your milling and printing workflow.

What do I need to send?

Send the prep, opposing and bite scans, plus a work ticket with the material and your design preferences. Common scan formats are accepted.

Can you follow our lab's design preferences?

Yes. Tell us your contact strength, occlusal clearance, cement gap and minimum thickness once, and we keep them on file for your cases.

Which materials do you design for?

Designs are prepared for the material named on your work ticket.

How do I send cases?

Send the scans your lab received, from any intraoral or desktop scanner, as STL, PLY or OBJ, together with the prescription or work ticket. We set up the case exchange that fits your lab when we start working together; labs on 3Shape Communicate can also send that way.

How fast are designs returned?

Standard turnaround is 2 business days. Cases you send in your evening are designed during our working day in Korea, so work starts while your lab is closed.

How do revisions work?

Every case goes through a review step before delivery. Request refinements and we adjust. A case is not done until you approve it.

Is design consultation included?

Yes. Every case includes a conversation with the designer about the final restoration: material choice, design decisions and how the design will mill or print.

Who designs the cases?

Cases are designed and reviewed under the direction of a 3Shape opinion leader who has taught digital dentistry as a professor in Korea.

What do I receive?

You receive a production-ready design file, prepared for your mill or printer.

How is patient information handled?

Put the patient's first name and your lab's case number on the work ticket; that is all we need to keep cases organized. Leave out last names, dates of birth and contact details. Patient gender and approximate age help us shape the design.

Send a test case.

Tell us how your lab works and we'll set up a case exchange that fits it.
